Student Welfare
Student Affairs
The Student Affairs Unit is part of the Admission and Registration Department at MTC. Dedicated to supporting the academic, military and personal development of MTC students, the unit is an integral part of student life from admission through to graduation. Our Student Affairs Officers provide advice and guidance to students to help them adjust to military college life and they serve as the main link for students and their families to other departments in the College, the Ministry of Defence and other services or sponsors. The Student Affairs Unit is also the main source of information for student news, updates and instructions, communicating regularly via email, SMS and website announcements.
Regular programmes and services provided by Student Affairs include:
Induction Week
At the beginning of each academic year, a multi-day induction event for new students is coordinated by the Student Affairs team. This event aims to provide students with knowledge about MTC’s academic and non-academic policies, regulations and procedures and to introduce them to the College’s facilities and services.
Student Services
Student Affairs Officers provide students with advice about all aspects of life at MTC, including their studies and training, attendance, complaints, financial and disciplinary matters. Students who need to inform the College about illness or absence, who need to request permission to leave campus or travel abroad, or who require help with supporting documentation should communicate with Student Affairs.
Awareness Programmes
Students are provided with ongoing support and guidance through seminars, lectures and exhibitions that are organised throughout the year to promote the development of the knowledge, skills and positive behaviours that will help them to be successful in their academic and professional careers.
Family Consultation
MTC recognises that positive support and encouragement from parents and other family members can have a significant impact on student engagement and motivation. The Student Affairs Unit offers a channel of communication for families to keep track of student progress, attendance and other important matters.
Alumni Affairs
Graduates of MTC are supported by the Student Affairs Unit from the period during which they complete their studies and throughout the process of joining employment with their sponsor. This includes assistance with preparing their documents and contract, where required, and officially transferring them to their service unit. Beyond graduation, MTC alumni are also invited to attend and participate in conferences, seminars, workshops and other events organised by the College.
