Overview

By royal directives of His late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may his soul rest in peace, the Military Technological College was established. Its fundamental aim is to consolidate technical and vocational education within a unified institution. The College serves as a key source of skilled and trained technical personnel for the Ministry of Defence, the Sultan’s Armed Forces of Oman, and various military and security agencies across the Sultanate of Oman.
In this era of the renewed renaissance, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the Supreme Commander, may God protect him, the College continues its journey of development and modernisation. The College receives the highest level of attention and unwavering support in order to further strengthen its educational and research capabilities.

Mission

To deliver excellence in academic and technical education and training by providing specialised, vocational, and professional accredited programmes to military and security services, and the community.

Vision

To be internationally positioned amongst military research-active academic institutions delivering academic technological education as a trusted provider of professionals.

Objectives

MTC strives to:

  1. attain a high local and international status as a provider of higher education along with military, professional and technical training.
  2. provide the military, security and other institutions with specialised cadres in several technical fields
  3. contribute to the qualification of technical cadres within various military, government and civilian institutions.
  4. promote research and development of technological approaches and solutions in military and government sectors and the community at large.

Values

Military Technological College is guided by the following values:

  • Discipline  – As future employees of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, students of the MTC must be trained to abide by the military code of conduct and the ability to obey orders.
  • Integrity – Graduates and employees of MTC are expected to have a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral, ethical principles,
    and values.
  • Pursuit of excellence –‘Knowledge and Perseverance’ is the founding principle of the MTC. Students and staff are expected to strive for excellence in all their endeavours to attain local and international recognition.
  • Lifelong learning – The MTC aims to train graduates capable of improvement through self and institution driven development, to solve problems of the future by inculcating the ability to continually learn to enhance the currency of their skills.
  • Commitment – MTC graduates are expected to be committed to achieving assigned tasks and generally to the maintenance and betterment of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, other security services, and civilian sector technical infrastructure and assets
