
Students from the Military Technological College participated in a scientific trip to the United States from June 16 to 21, 2025. This trip was part of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge, a global event organized by NASA that involves over 180 countries, including the Sultanate of Oman. The challenge in Oman took place in Wilayat Bidiyah and was supervised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ibra. Its primary objective was to engage developers, engineers, and scientists worldwide in creating innovative solutions for challenges related to Earth and space, utilizing NASA’s open-source data.
The challenge attracted participation from over 9,000 teams globally. In Oman, 75 teams were selected to qualify and compete in the local phase held in Wilayat Bidiyah. The Military Technological College’s team was formed based on specializations relevant to space and Earth sciences and comprised students and lecturers with expertise in Aeronautical Engineering and Geomatics Engineering.
