The 2nd Science Week, 2021, organized virtually by MTC, was launched on Monday August 2, 2021. The Opening Ceremony was held under the patronage of Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, taking all precautionary measures against Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ceremony was opened by the speech of the Dean of MTC, in which he highlighted the important role of the Science Week to discover talents and scientific expertise. After that, the Chairman of the Science Committee gave a brief about the scientific activities, research, and various activities that will be included in the 2nd Science Week of this year. A video about the activities and events held by the College during the period (2016-2021) was also presented to the audience. Then, the virtual platform of the 2nd Science Week was launched by the Patron of the Ceremony.
At the end of the Ceremony, the Patron awarded a number of MTC members who excelled in scientific activities and research. The Opening Ceremony was concluded by taking the Patrona and the audience to a tour around the Exhibition accompanying the 2nd Science Week. In the Exhibition, the visitors were introduced to all the scientific innovations that were displayed and were briefed about the scientific capabilities of the members of MTC.
The activities of the 2nd Science Week, which are continuous until the 4th of August, are attended by a number of Senior Officers of the Sultan's Armed Forces, and the members of the academic faculty of MTC.
