Specific Requirements:

Specialty Duties and Responsibilities
Quantity Surveying
  • Teach principles and practices of quantity surveying, including measurement techniques, cost estimating, and financial control of construction projects.
  • Guide students in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and cost plans based on construction drawings and specifications.
  • Develop case studies and exercises based on real-world construction projects to enhance student understanding.
  • Instruct students in pre-contract and post-contract cost management, tender documentation, and contract administration.
  • Train students in the use of quantity surveying software such as CostX or similar tools for measurement and cost estimation.
  • Participate in curriculum development, student assessment, and the continuous improvement of the Quantity Surveying program.
  • Keep updated with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) standards and integrate best practices into the curriculum.
