Specialty Duties and Responsibilities
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
(Technical)
  • Teach Building Information Modelling (BIM) concepts, processes, and applications to engineering and construction students.
  • Deliver lessons on construction drawing, detailing, and BIM standards, including ISO 19650 series.
  • Train students in BIM-related software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and CostX.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in collaboration tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or equivalent platforms for design coordination and project management.
  • Develop comprehensive teaching materials, course outlines, assignments, and practical activities that reflect current industry practices.
  • Supervise and guide students in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and the production of construction documentation.
  • Support students in understanding the application of BIM in real-world construction projects, from design to project handover.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to integrate Building Information Modeling (BIM) learning across Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) disciplines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments in BIM and integrate new technologies and standards into the curriculum.
