Quality Assurance

Quality has been at the heart of the Military Technological College since its inception. The College strives to provide high-quality engineering education and training for its students by monitoring, evaluating and updating its programmes to conform to the highest international standards. The MTC Quality Assurance Framework describes how the College guarantees the quality of academic and student support provided by teaching and administrative staff, through monitoring, evaluation and improvement of teaching and learning services and other related services.

The MTC Quality Assurance Committee is responsible for ensuring quality of academic and student services through periodic meetings that discuss and work to implement policies, regulations and procedures in addition to overseeing the requirements of external bodies for academic accreditation and auditing, whether local or international; for example, the requirements of the University of Portsmouth (MTC’s Academic Partner) and the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA).

The Directorate of Quality Assurance at the MTC is responsible for liaising with various parties involved in ensuring the quality of the MTC graduate and that of the academic delivery, as well as the student support services provided the College. The Directorate oversees matters ranging from review of student feedback and annual reports to the management of various policy documents. It is also involved in enhancing the quality of academic delivery by conducting lectures and awareness workshops and ensuring that policies and procedures in force are adhered to. The Directorate promotes and endeavours to establish a culture of quality in the College whereby ‘Quality is Everyone’s Business’.
